This Wednesday, November 14, 2018, the region Saumur Val de Loire was proud to inaugurate the extension of warehouse 17 of the Anjou Actiparc industrial area of ​​Jumelles, in Longué-Jumelles. Since 2016, the Dutch company EconSeeds, associated with the French group Bertrand (seed producer since 1947), uses this space. The business being successful, the company has expanded its warehouse.

The economy of saumuroise is doing well

expand. Located at the edge of the

 

A85 motorway, it represents  “one of the 10 departmental impact zones”  of the saumuroise region with its  “high-performance infrastructures”  (gas network, very high speed labeling …) and is

intended for hosting of  “logistical, industrial and craft projects”, presents the CASVL. It already hosts almost thirty companies (Val’Prim, ATM, Transport Cousseau, Technisem, TP Pineau, Mécaloire), including 17 warehouses it is a business incubator.

150,000 euros for an extension of 273,50 m²

“In order to strengthen the local economic fabric,

 develop the business park and meet the needs of EconSeeds,” said President Marchand, the Saumur

Val de Loire region decided in 2018 to build a extension to the 17th

warehouse. Leased by the Dutch

company, the 808 m² warehouse has been extended by 273.50 m² to enlarge the warehouse area and to increase the production capacity of EconSeeds, which has around 15 employees. The project management of this extension was entrusted to the ATEA architectural firm of Saumur. Regarding finances, the investment of the saumuroise region for the extension of this building amounts to 150 000 euros (HT).

The seeds of EconSeeds, a sure bet

Founded in July 2008, EconSeeds BV is an independent company that produces and sells flower seeds and vegetable seeds for seed companies and distributors around the world. In October 2016, the Dutch group, headquartered in Enkhuizen, The Netherlands, acquired the world-renowned

Bertrand brand for the production of quality flower seeds since 1947 .  “This acquisition completed our installation Anjou Actiparc binoculars in Longué-Jumelles in 2016 to produce flower and vegetable seeds with quality”says Hans Veenstra, CEO of EconSeeds. To maintain the quality of its production, the CEO can also count on Seeds Bertrand flower blends, a French brand whose durability is assured, in particular, by blending flowers. “These are more than 600 varieties produced by the French-Dutch company on 250 hectares in the Pays de la Loire region, and mainly around the town of Longué-Jumelles,” says Charly Rousseau, administrative manager of EconSeeds.
